THE CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS BROUGHT US TO THE BRINK OF WWIII THE CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS BROUGHT US TO THE BRINK OF WWIII. HALTING NUCLEAR TESTING IS NOT ENOUGH.

THE ARMS RACE IS EXPENSIVE RUSSIA IS SPENDING 25% OF THEIR GDP ON THEIR MILITARY BUT AMERICA IS SPENDING QUITE A BIT ON THE ARMS RACE AS WELL VIETNAM IS RAGING AND WE NEED RUSSIA’S HELP TO GET OUT OF IT .

#3. THE USSR HAS AS MANY NUKES AS THE U. S #3.THE USSR HAS AS MANY NUKES AS THE U.S. THIS IS KNOWN AS NUCLEAR PARITY YAY!

RELAXATION PART 1

1968: NUCLEAR NON-PROLIFERATION TREATY BETWEEN NIXON AND BREZHNEV. PROLIFERATION MEANS TO SPREAD. NON-PROLIFERATION MEANS TO PREVENT THE SPREADING OF.

DID THE NON-PROLIFERATION TREATY WORK? 2014: 9 countries have nukes (One unofficially) Can you name them? 1. 5. 2. 6. 3. 7. 4. 8. One unofficially

THE INVASION OF AFGHANISTAN (1979) ENDS DÉTENTE ONCE AND FOR ALL

THE BASIC PRINCIPLES AGREEMENT: LAID OUT HOW THE 2 SUPERPOWERS WOULD WORK TOGETHER TO PREVENT NUCLEAR WAR EVENTUALLY, WASHINGTON AND MOSCOW WOULD GET A HOTLINE, THE RED PHONE

IN ADDITION, WE ALL AGREE TO COOPERATE HELSINKI, FINLAND (1975) IN EXCHANGE FOR INTERNATIONALLY REOGNIZING THE EXISTENCE OF EAST GERMANY THE RUSSIANS AGREE TO THEORETICALLY HONOR THE HUMAN RIGHTS OF THOSE BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN IN ADDITION, WE ALL AGREE TO COOPERATE

This is how we got the inimitable Mikhail Barishnakov. This is also why the entire Cuban Soccer Team just disappeared in Miami International Airport.

BESIDES AFGHANISTAN (1979) WHY DID DÉTENTE COME TO AN END? Not only did we lose Vietnam but Laos and Cambodia became Communist as well. Mozambique in Africa became Communist and so did Guinea Bissau. Remember, Communism is not always coming from Moscow! Russia and America supported competing forces in Angola in one of their many proxy wars Ethiopia too! They have no food, but plenty of AK-47’s. Even Cuba sent 10,000 troops to Ethiopia!
