Old System Batteries – what should be done with them when they are dead?

Rechargeable Battery Collection Process New System: Rechargeable Battery Collection Process / Unlike single-use batteries, rechargeable batteries contain heavy metal elements that allow them to be recharged over and over. The heavy metals can be hazardous to the environment, unless they are properly recycled. Recognizing the potential environmental consequences, the Environmental Protection Agency categorizes rechargeable batteries as household hazardous waste.

Rechargeable Battery Collection Process Two collection points: Envelope collection system in buildings. One contact per building Envelopes preaddressed for EHS Small baggies provided to contact Collection Box in nine locations across campus / Unlike single-use batteries, rechargeable batteries contain heavy metal elements that allow them to be recharged over and over.
