Recruitment and Retention Incentive Plan Huntsville City Schools Will Initiate a Recruitment and Retention Incentive Plan For Schools Designated as Transformational Schools To Enhance the Instructional Capacity of AP, IB and the Career Academies. AP Transformational Schools Incentive Plan for Teachers IB Transformational School Incentive Plan for Teachers Career Academy Incentive Plan for Teachers

The Transformational School Incentive Plan The transformational school incentive plan for teachers will include three schools and three areas of focus. Schools with typically lower pass-rates in AP or IB and Career Certifications include: Columbia High School Jemison High School Lee High School Three Areas of Focus of the Transformational School’s Incentive Plan include: Supplement of $2000 for teachers Threshold Bonus of $1000 for teachers Performance Incentive based on student pass-rates on AP or IB Exams or career certifications.

The AP Transformational Incentive Plan The AP Transformational Incentive Plan will include the AP Core Subject Courses. Core AP Subjects Mathematics English Science Social Studies

The AP Incentive Plan The AP Incentive will include a supplement, threshold bonus and a performance based incentive for teachers. A $2000 Supplement will be awarded by the teacher at the end of the school year. A $1000 Threshold will be awarded if the teacher has met his/her target Threshold amount of passing AP exam scores. Meet or surpass a threshold amount of passing scores Threshold amounts are based on the previous year’s scores in the AP course An approximate increase of three passing scores from the previous year A Performance Based Incentive will be awarded after the AP exam scores are reviewed. $150 for AP passing scores (3, 4, 5) for each student not predicted to pass the AP Test $50 for AP passing scores for each student predicted to pass the AP test. Predicted Pass-Rates will be based on the student scores from the following tests: PSAT ACT ACT Aspire

IB Diploma Transformational Incentive Plan The IB Diploma Transformational Plan for teachers will consist of all IB Diploma Courses. The plan will include a supplement, threshold bonus and a performance based incentive for teachers. A $2000 Supplement will be awarded at the end of the school year. A $1000 Threshold bonus will be awarded to teachers if the target threshold amount of passing IB Diploma exam scores is met. Threshold amounts are based on the previous year’s scores in the IB Diploma courses An approximate increase of three passing scores from the previous year. A Performance Based Incentive will be awarded after the IB exam scores are reviewed. For each higher level IB Diploma exam a student passes, the teacher will receive $150. For each standard level IB Diploma exam a student passes, the teacher will receive $100.

The Career Academy Transformational Incentive Plan The Career Academy Transformational Incentive Plan will include all Career Academy Courses offered in Huntsville City Schools. A $2000 Supplement will be received by teachers at the end of the school year. A $1000 Threshold will be awarded to teachers who have met his/her target threshold amount of Career Academy certifications. Threshold amounts are based on the previous year’s career certifications in the Career Academy courses. An approximate increase of 5 to 10 Career Academy certifications from the previous year will indicate the threshold amount. Career Academy teachers will receive $50 stipend for each student receiving a certification in their Career Academy Course.

Performance Based Incentive Plan A Performance Based Incentive Plan will be implemented for High Schools not included in the Transformational Incentive Plan. Schools Not Included in the Transformational Incentive Plan: Grissom High Huntsville High New Century High AP Performance Based Incentive Core AP teachers will receive $150 stipend for AP passing scores of each student not predicted to pass the AP Test. Core AP teachers will receive $50 stipend for AP passing scores of each student predicted to pass the AP test. Career Academy Performance Based Incentive Career Academy teachers will receive $50 for each student receiving a certification in a Career Academy Course.

ACT Incentives For Juniors

ACT Plus Writing Incentives Paid Out to Students Fall 2016 2014 was the first year to offer incentives to all juniors who took the Spring ACT Plus Writing. Juniors will be paid incentives for meeting ACT College Readiness Benchmarks in each of the following areas: English, Math, Science, Reading - $50 each Composite - $100 English Benchmark – 18 Math Benchmark -22 Science Benchmark - 23 Reading Benchmark - 22 Composite Benchmark - 22
