In South Florida, 9 children (on average) are removed from their homes every day due to abuse, abandonment or neglect. The record is 29 children in one day. Over half of the children removed will be under 6 years old. The average age of girls targeted for human trafficking is 11. 25% of youth aging out of foster care report being homeless at least once by age 22. 54% of former foster youth completed high school according to a national survey. 60% of young women who aged out of foster care had children by age 22.

4KIDS provides for children through emergency care, foster care, crisis pregnancy, and aging out. Additionally, 4KIDS supports families who are at risk of being separated. 4KIDS cares for over 200 children daily through residential and non-residential programs. SafePlace provides short-term, emergency care for children ages 0-17 in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Foster Care places children 0-17 in 4KIDS foster families, while offering family support. In December 2013, 4KIDS repurposed a home, Mercy Place, for girls at risk for sexual exploitation. We average nearly 30 adoptions a year in foster care; over 300 in our history. His Caring Place is a residential and non-residential crisis pregnancy program offering young girls the necessary skills to support their child. Spirit of Success Institute works with teens and young adults who have aged out of the foster care system, and provides them with mentoring, life skills, and a family. Safe Families works with families to offer support and temporary placement for their children to prevent them from going into foster care. 4KIDS partners with ChildNet, Florida Department of Children and Families, and Child Welfare League of America.

Strategic Goals Through June 2015: #1 Increase Homes: 4KIDS is currently the fastest-growing foster care agency in Palm Beach and Broward Counties. 210 homes by June 2015 is a very aggressive goal and based on current trends. $700,000 additional operating expense - $585,000 will come from private funding #2 SafePlace Palm Beach $450,000 annual operating expense - $150,000 will come from private funding #3 Impact 2,000 Children and Families We impact children and families in the community through the following outreaches: Safe Families – serves families prior to their children entering foster care. Safe Place “Kids Packs” – shared with every child when they leave SafePlace. These backpacks are filled with a Bible, age appropriate activities, clothing, and personal care products. YouShare.org – engaging the community to meet the tangible needs of families in need. Gift of Hope Christmas Outreach – collects toys and Christmas gifts for foster children. #4 Provide Trauma-Based Therapy $250,000 needed to cover 3 therapists, supervisor and materials #5 Establish 4KIDS Affiliates 4KIDS of Tampa, 4KIDS of West Central Florida, 4KIDS of Central Florida, and 4KIDS of South Texas are new affiliates.  Would require $350,000 annually for staff, training, travel and additional setup costs   4KIDS Allies consist of agencies, churches and organizations contacting 4KIDS for consultation and information about what we do.

Various Ways to Get Involved Corporate – take a tour of one of our facilities, become a corporate event sponsor, etc. Church – host an Orphan Sunday, promote foster family recruitment, etc. Individual – take a Vision Tour, attend an event, become a foster family, etc.

Jay was placed with Sean & Rachael Jones, a 4KIDS foster family, and in 2010 was adopted into their family. The Jones family was recently relicensed, providing a Home for another Child.
