Planning for District Success

Create a culture of performance

What is Strategic Planning? A systematic process of envisioning a desired future, and translating this vision into broadly defined goals or objectives and a sequence of steps to achieve them.

A tool that provides guidance in fulfilling a Mission with maximum efficiency and impact. If it is to be effective and useful, it should articulate specific goals and describe the action steps and resources needed to accomplish them.

Background How long have the District’s Exchange Clubs been serving their communities? What is the structure of the district? What need does the district serve? - Why is this important to the district right now? Is the need for these services growing? What kind of geographic boundaries does the district have? - What is the reach, and what is the potential What is the profile of your most likely service users? - What do you know about this group of people - How does the district address their needs What successes did the district have last year? What challenges do you anticipate next year that will need to be addressed?

Vision Vision Checklist: Does it excite members? Does it tell the world about what you want to do? Is it big enough? Is it simple? Is it clear? Is it about what you can give?

Mission Vision: States the result of your good works Mission: Your role in delivering the vision. What you will do to help bring about this change? Your Mission checklist: Does it tell the community about the purpose of Exchange Clubs? Is it clear and simple? Will it help keep you focused on the right things?
