Top A musical journey exploring examples of British music Class 7 START Top A musical journey exploring examples of British music Class 7 Key skills: listening, performing and composing Week 2: Listen to ‘The Storm’ and describe the instruments, mood and structure of the music. Week 1: Find out about Benjamin Britten and respond to one of his pieces of music by drawing a picture and using words to describe it. Week 5: Listen to British Indian children performing their music. Find out about two types of India instruments. Experiment with drum rhythms and pitch patterns Week 4: Layer sounds together to create a piece of music about a storm. Week 3: Choose sounds of the right timbre to describe the different aspects of a storm. Week 6:Watch a female dancer perform a Kathak dance. Try out some simple steps. Week 7: Create drum rhythm patterns to tell a Hindu story. WELL DONE – you have reached the journey’s end! FINISH
