Municipal wastewater broadly reported Industries not a topic on EU level, though individual countries experience severe problems Long range transport of air pollution Several issues would gain from integration with other policy areas

Other obstacles Key issues Many countries face difficulties related to data. Specific interest for ‘how to present outcomes of the art. 5 reports in WFD context’. Issues regarding international co-ordination, especially with non-EU countries Several knowledge gaps were identified. These will be further investigated in the 2nd phase of the activity

2nd Phase; what issues need extra research? Starting point: issues raised in the return to the questionnaire Inventory of research projects potentially covering the issue (started) Further elaboration with the research projects leaders (to be finalised in 2005)

Links with PRB PRBs are asked to pick subjects that are not (yet) key areas under the CIS (e.g. hydromorphology, long range air pollution) PRBs can benefit from inventory of research projects (better insight in output of RTD projects) Ideally, PRBs would link directly with RTD projects

Way forward Finalisation of inventory of RTD projects Start with cross linking PRBs and RTD projects Explore possibilities for cooperation between PRBs and RTD projects (in close cooperation with HarmoniCA)
