Why redevelop? Support for database management system (ODBII) being withdrawn Some limitations with software Inteframe technically isolated from rest of economic statistics technical environment Limited number of staff with knowledge of ODBII/ODQL

Technical priorities Selection of new database and software platform Method for automatically migrating business logic and data Replacement software for user interface/presentation layer Integration with ABS Enterprise Architecture Integration with other systems

What business drivers exist? Very few but some important Data redundancy Business process integration/integration with other systems Improved data extraction facilities Improved output facilities Enhanced security/audit facilities Increased flexibility to implement change in future
