8th Commandment: You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Small Catechism (pgs. 87-89) How should we treat our neighbors based on this commandment? Defend them, speak well of them, and explain everything in the kindest way. Read Prov. 11:13 on pg. 88. What does gossip do? Betrays confidence. Destroys friendship. Fuels conflict.

Matthew 26:47-50 What was Judas’ lie? He lied to the chief priests. He lied to Jesus and the disciples. Judas gave false testimony against Jesus. We do, too. When we place another idol above God, we’re lying to ourselves that this idol is all that matters. That’s a huge, FAT, LIE!

We belong to God… PRAISE THE LORD! We’re FORGIVEN! We’re LOVED! We know the Way, TRUTH, and Life! PRAISE THE LORD!

Matthew 6:19-34 What does Jesus mean in verse 21? Is Jesus saying we should never invest in possessions? Why or why not? Is He saying we shouldn’t take care of ourselves? What does Jesus say about worrying?
