Galván, MD, Juan Carlos Guarderas, MD  Mayo Clinic Proceedings  Volume 87, Issue 9, Pages 901-904 (September 2012) DOI: 10.1016/j.mayocp.2012.06.022 Copyright © 2012 Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research Terms and Conditions

FIGURE Laryngoscopic image in a patient with asthma who recently started inhaled corticosteroid therapy and reported dysphonia. Note posterior bowing of the vocal cords. After performing the work-up for dysphonia, we concluded that this change was due to inhaled corticosteroid therapy.
