Phase 1 Oxford to Bicester

East West Rail Phase 1 Funding agreed by Office of Rail Regulation Foundations for Bicester chord line installed and earthworks commenced 25Km of newt fencing installed and hibernaculae constructed Badger setts stopped up and new setts constructed Bat surveys required by English Nature completed to their satisfaction Water Eaton grain silo demolished and site clearance at Banbury Road commenced Various earthworks and structures designs in progress Carillion Buckingham JV announced as preferred bidder on 5 December £87.4m main works contract with CBJV for signing Secretary of State for transport to visit line on 13 February Railway will close on Friday 14 February until start of new services in August 2015 On target for programme completion date
