THE WONDERFUL RAINFOREST By:Stephanie Ramirez and Andy Garcia

What is a rain forest? A rainforest is a place where plants and animals live together. Also it is a moist and misty place.

Location of Rain Forests Rainforest are located in South America, Asia, Africa, and some islands .

Emergent Layer The emergent layer has many tree tops, birds, and animals.

Canopy Layer . In the Canopy Layer many animals live there like the three-toed-sloth, cock-of-rock, and the spider monkey.

Understory Layer Some snakes, lizards, frogs and some plants like the rosy periwinkle and the bromeliad live there.

Forest Floor On the forest floor there are waterfalls, tapirs, jaguars, and anteaters.

Deforestation Many rainforests are being destroyed because people are building homes, cities and towns. Also people are cattle grazing, mining and logging.

People of the Rain Forest Many different people live in the rainforest like natives.
