ELEVATOR PITCH Going Up?

What is it exactly? An elevator pitch (or elevator speech or statement) is a short summary used to quickly and simply define a product, service, or a person. The name "elevator pitch" reflects the idea that it should be possible to deliver the summary in the time span of an elevator ride, or approximately thirty seconds to two minutes.

What do I need to include? Here are just some examples of things you might want to include: 5 personal traits about yourself 2 of your strengths 2 of your weaknesses Your possible career paths

Your Assignment Create a one-minute script that tells someone about YOU! Give your pitch a title, use about 250 words, and remember to practice so that you can time yourself. Your rough draft is due at the end of the block. We will type your final drafts tomorrow in class.

Include topics such as: Introduction of yourself and the job that you want Personality traits that match your career goals Career options you now think that you may like to pursue Why do you think you’d be good at these?

Include topics such as: Your likes and dislikes with regard to school or work Subjects you are studying in school this semester as relevant to the job Why are you the best candidate for the job/why should they call you back for an official interview?
