What Time Were Gladiators Around? The first Gladiatorial fight was in 264 B.C. The Gladiators fought for 700 years before dying out. Gladiatorial games were most common during the funeral games known as Munera.

Gladiator diet The Roman Gladiators diet was the most important part of there life The Gladiators had three square meals a day. The Gladiators diet consisted of mostly proteins from vegetables and cereals.

Gladiator the Movie The plot of the movie Gladiator is that General Maximus Decimus Meridius goes and leads the Roman Empire to victory against the Germanians. And the dying Emperor wants Maximus to give Rome back to the people but the emperors son- Commodus becomes jealous kills his father and then kills Maximus’ family and then tries to kill Maximus. But Maximus escapes and is sold as a slave and becomes a gladiator when he isn’t defeated and gets to fight Commodus. When Commodus finds out about this he stabs Maximus in the lung before their fight but Maximus kills Commodus and then dies of his own wounds and joins his family in the after world.

How Accurate is the Movie Gladiator The movie Gladiator is riveting but historically inaccurate. For example there was no last great battle with the Germanian Tribes on the eve of Marcus Aurelius’ death in fact Marcus Aurelius died the year after. And Caesar Commodus wasn’t killed by The Gladiator he was killed by Narcissus on Dec 31, AD 192.
