Good Afternoon, 810 This afternoon you will have the opportunity to examine some secondary data and turn the raw data into a graph. THINK: Which of our success criteria does this learning activity meet? (check the list in your math notebook!)

When to use which type of graph? Both of these graphs show data about additional home languages spoken by Tomken families. Which graph is better for showing this data? Why?

Turning Data into a Graph You will be creating a double or triple bar graph, or another type of graph of your choice You may create your graph on large or small grid paper, or on the computer, by using graphing software You must complete and include this statement written on the back of your graph, or attached to your work somehow: “We chose to display our data on a ______ graph. We believe this is effective because….” This assignment must be printed out or emailed to Ms. Teschow, and is due at the end of the period.
