A Balanced Assessment System Summative assessments benchmarked to college and career readiness WVUSD Assessment Window March 10-May 28, 2015 Common Core State Standards specify K-12 expectations for college and career readiness Teachers and schools have information and tools they need to improve teaching and learning All students leave high school college and career ready Educator resources for formative assessment practices to improve instruction Interim assessments flexible, open, used for actionable feedback

CAASPP Reporting Results 2014-15 Smarter Balanced results will be reported at the following levels: State County District School site Grade level Parent

Collegewood SBAC Testing Schedule Collegewood’s testing window is April 14th- May 8th Testing sessions will be staggered beginning with fifth grade Teachers will notify parents of their specific days for testing

CAASPP Components Computer adaptive assessments and Performance Tasks for ELA and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 11 Smarter Balanced Assessments for grade 11 will be used for purposes of the Early Assessment Program (EAP) California Standards Test (CST) paper/pencil tests in science for grades 5, 8, and 10 Tip: Add your own speaker notes here.

Walnut Valley Unified School District’s Preparation for Smarter Balanced Assessments Technology Common Core Funding: Over 2,200 additional devices have been purchased to ensure the minimum of: Elementary Schools-150 devices Middle Schools-350 devices High School-400 devices
