Writing your name Ensure that the spelling of your name (both in English and in Tamil) is the same in all documents (birth certificate, school TC, college TC, Aadhar card, mark sheets of each semester and consolidated marksheet plus provisional and degree certificate Example: V.Chandrasekar initial ‘V’stands for father’s name, Venkataraman However, in Tamil it should be வெ.சந்திரசேகர்.

CIA – continuous internal assessment Examination will be conducted in two semesters per year; 6 semesters will be conducted in 3 years. CIA – continuous internal assessment Tests and assessments/assignments will be held from time to time for all classes at the discretion of the heads of departments. This is in addition to the examination in each term Serious notice will be taken in regard to absence from these tests; and progress of the student in these tests / assessment or assignment will also be taken into consideration for the purpose of granting CIA (Continuous Internal Assessment) marks.

Regarding NME/BT/AT All UG students have to enroll themselves in any of the Departments other than their own for Non-Major Elective Courses (NME) or Basic Tamil (BT)/Advanced Tamil (AT ) courses and this will be conducted for THE FIRST two semesters with examination at the end of each semester in the first year. Those who have not studied Tamil in school level / whose mother tongue is not Tamil must take Basic Tamil and those who have studied Tamil at the school level and have chosen other languages in +2 and / or in par I in the Degree in programme can choose Advanced Tamil.

Credits pertaining to Extra-curricular activities IT IS COMPULSORY FOR all the first year undergraduate students to enroll themselves in anyone of the following compulsory Extension Service (i) NCC (ii) NSS (iii) Sports (iv) Rotaract Club (v) Youth Red Cross CREDITS WILL BE GIVEN FOR PARTICIPATION – participation in any one of the extension service is COMPULSORY Minimum prescribed participation/attendance in one of these extension services is ESSENTIAL FOR THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE COURSE Separate selection procedure is in force for NCC and Sports programme E OF THESE

EXAMINATION APPLICATION FORM Students who have earned a minimum of 75% attendance alone are eligible to appear for the semester examinations (Theory and practicals). They are termed as REGULAR Such of those whose attendance position is below 75% but above 65% come under the category of CONDONATION wherein the said candidate will have to pay a fine in order for condoning their absence (PROVIDED the HOD ascertains the genuineness of the problem that forced the student to absent himself AND THE SAME IS RECOMMENDED BY THE PRINCIPAL) Students who have more than 50% attendance but less than 65% attendance ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO WRITE THEIR EXAMS IN THAT SEMESTER – DETENTION Other students below 50% attendance will have to redo their studies for that year.

Printed examination application forms will be issued to each candidate by COE staff in respective departments on a particular date (PRIOR INFORMATION WILL BE GIVEN). Students are advised to bring a photocopy of the fee challan on that date Students are advised to check their name, subject code, Title of the paper in the application form and then sign in the space provided Signed forms should be returned back along with the photocopy of fees paid bank challan to the staff.

After remitting the examination fees at the bank counter through a challan, the Student should fulfill the following condition failing which he will forfeit his candidature for the examination. Pay the Examination Fees only at Punjab National Bank (Royapettah high road branch). Bank will also be requested to operate a special counter in our college premises on specific dates and the same will be communicated. STUDENTS HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT SOME AMOUNT WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THEIR FEES (AS CASH TRANSACTION FEE) IF THEY PAY THE FEES IN OTHER BRANCHES OF PNB – SO, PLEASE PAY IN THE ABOVE-MENTIONED BRANCH ONLY

Examination schedule of dates are given in the calendar. Students, who have to appear for arrear exams also, shall compulsorily pay the prescribed examination fee (both for regular and arrear) in the subsequent semester, irrespective of their willingness to appear or otherwise. Fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted for the subsequent examinations.

EXAMINATION HALL Students will not be allowed inside the examination hall without proper Hall ticket and Identity Card. Examination in the forenoon session will be held from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and in the afternoon session from 01.30 pm to 04.30 pm. Students should be seated in the examination hall at least fifteen minutes before the commencement of the examination. Students will not be permitted to enter the examination hall 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination.

Students should verify the subject code and check whether he has been provided with the relevant question paper and thereafter begin writing the examination. Mobile phones and programmable calculators will not be allowed inside the examination hall. Simple calculator may be allowed. Lending / exchanging of calculator or any other item inside the examination hall is strictly prohibited. Students are advised to cultivate the habit of seeing the Notice Board at COE office and check our College website (www.rkmvc.ac.in) regularly.

Procedure to be followed REVALUATION Students appearing for VI Semester (of UG) and IV semester (of PG) alone can apply for revaluation, provided the student has failed in any one paper in his final semester. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE STUDENT SHOULD HAVE CLEARED ALL OTHER PAPERS Procedure to be followed Those who wish to apply for revaluation have to apply first to the Controller of Examinations for obtaining the photocopy of the relevant answer script by paying the prescribed fee. After scrutiny of the photocopy, the student, if interested in revaluation, has to pay the prescribed fee for revaluation. The marks awarded in the revaluation shall be final

All communications pertaining to examinations should be addressed to the Controller of Examinations. The result of the revaluation will be displayed in the notice board at the controller of examinations office. INSTANT EXAMINATIONS / SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATIONS Instant examinations will be held immediately after the declaration of final Semester results. VI semester of UG and IV semester of PG students alone are eligible to apply for/write the Instant examinations.

The aforesaid students should not have more than one arrear paper in the VI Semester (for UG) And IV Semester (for PG) Student with more than ONE arrear paper at the time of publication of results (and students having arrear in other semester) IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPEAR FOR THE INSTANT EXAMINATION A student who is absent in the current appearance IS ALSO NOT ELIGIBLE for appearing in the instant examination A student who has arrear in Practical/Project IS NOT ELIGIBLE for the instant examination Application form for the Instant examinations can be had from the COE’s office and the filled up form along with the proof of fees paid should reach the COE’s office before the prescribed date.
