The Highway Rat What my book is about My favourite character Why I liked the book What I didn’t like about the book

What the book is about The book is about a rat who travels the highway on his chestnut brown horse. He steals food from other animals and eats it. The rat says “Who goes there?” and then points his sword at the animals. The animals cry with dismay and then the rat chants about what he has stolen, for example: “This clover is bound to be tasteless, This clover is dull as can be, But I am the rat of the Highway, and this clover belongs to me!”

My Favourite Character My favourite character was the duck, because she tricks the rat into going to see her sister duck in the cave and then the duck jumps on his horse and gallops away.

What I liked about the book I liked the rhymes. I liked the pictures, especially the picture of the party. I liked the expressions on the animals faces when the rat took their food.

What I didn’t like about the book I didn’t like the ending because it didn’t make sense as it did not explain how he got the job in the cake shop.
