Physical Traits Describe the way something looks Describe the internal structure (eg. fur color) (Write this under physical traits)
Behavioral Traits Describe the way something acts (like hibernation, migration, hunting) Describe something that was learned (like fetching, doing tricks, reading, math) (write these under behavioral traits)
Physical Traits INHERITED ACQUIRED Coded in the DNA of each cell Something that happened or was gained after birth
Some examples of physical traits INHERITED ACQUIRED eye color, hair color, skin color, earlobes, fingernail shape scars, pierced ears, bruises, changed hair color
Behavioral Traits INHERITED ACQUIRED Coded in the DNA of each cell Sometimes called “instinct” Something that was learned after birth
Some examples of behavioral traits INHERITED ACQUIRED writing, speaking English, doing math, playing musical instrument migration, birds flying, fish swimming, hibernation, stalking, etc.
