What You Did… Luke 14.25-35 Demands of discipleship Acts 2.21

When you believed… Heard something… Became convinced by it… Acknowledged Him for who He is… Heard something…1 Co 1.21; 1 Tim 3.15 (it is the job of the church to preach that “foolishness”) Became convinced… Our faith is based on testimony – Jn 21.24; 2 Tim 1.8 Acknowledged… Jn 8.24

When you repented… Acknowledged yourself for who you are… Learned that there is a better Way… Committed yourself to that Way… Acknowledged yourself… Matt 9.13 Better way… Acts 9.2 Committed… Isa 2.3; Mt 28.20; Acts 2.42

When you confessed… Opened your mouth in acknowledgment of all the foregoing… Committed yourself to Him as who He is… You are now witness against yourself if you turn back… Opened your mouth… Rom 10.9-10 Committed yourself… Matt 28.20 Now witness against yourself…

When you were baptized… You died… You were buried… You were raised again… You were born again… You became a new creature… Called upon His name for salvation…
