 Clouds are collections of tiny ice crystals or water droplets.  All air contains water vapor. When the air cools water vapor condenses.  This condensed.
Weather. Meteorology Meteorology is the study of processes that govern the Earth’s atmosphere. Meteorology helps make weather predictions possible.

Air mass - large body of air that has similar temp. and moisture - move by prevailing winds and upper air currents Front - boundary between 2 different.
Develop and use models to explain how relationships between the movement and interactions of air masses, high and low pressure systems, and frontal boundaries.
Moonlight reflecting off ice crystals in cirrostratus clouds can cause a halo to appear around the moon. Such a halo often indicates that precipitation.

How does atmospheric pressure distribute energy?
〉 When fronts move through an area, the result is usually precipitation and a change in wind direction and temperature. air mass: a large body of air.

Low Altitude Clouds  Form below 2000 meters.  Forms when warm, moist air rises, expands and cools.  Made of water droplets only!  There are 5 different.
Weather & Climate. Weather is the day to day changes in the atmosphere. temperature precipitation wind speed wind direction cloud cover humidity air.
Weather Patterns Air Mass: A large body of air that has properties similar to the part of Earth’s surface over which it develops. Air masses cover thousands.
STORMS STORMS.

By. Amber Summey Science Mr.Shepard. Before thunderstorms develop, a change in wind direction and an increase in wind speed with increasing height creates.
Severe Storms ThunderstormsTornadoesHurricanes. What are severe storms? They form under very special conditions They often grow our of another, more common.

Severe Weather. Watch Vs. Warning Watch= The conditions are right for severe weather. –Stay tuned to reports Warning= Severe weather has been sighted.
Air Pressure. High and Low Pressure Areas High pressure causes air to sink Usually results in several days of clear sunny skies Air rises in low pressure.

Spectacular Mammatus Clouds These photos were taken by Jorn Olsen, he lives on Heartwell Park in Hastings, Nebraska. Spectacular Mammatus Clouds over Hastings, Nebraska  December, 6th, 2004 Three of these extremely rare photos were featured on the front and back cover of the Journal of Meteorology and circulated in 26 countries. Mammatus Clouds Mammatus are pouch-like cloud structures and a rare example of clouds in sinking air. Sometimes very ominous in appearance, mammatus clouds are harmless and do not mean that a tornado is about to form; a commonly held misconception. In fact, mammatus are usually seen after the worst of a thunderstorm has passed. Mammatus typically develop on the underside of a thunderstorm's anvil and can be a remarkable sight, especially when sunlight is reflected off of them.
