Martin Luther Became a monk in 1505 Guilty feelings of sin, Luther found no peace in Catholic traditions

Martin Luther Luther took issue with Bishop John Tetzel Tetzel was selling indulgences to rebuild a church in Rome Indulgences were a pardon, a way to get out of your church imposed penalty

October 31, 1517 Martin Luther nailed 95 Theses—debate questions--to the church door in Wittenberg, Germany. Attacked indulgences. Luther wanted full reform within the Church.
