CER Claim: Only things containing iron are magnetic. Evidence: We tested various things to see if they were attracted to a magnet. Some things were not attracted (like a plastic spoon, an eraser, a crayon, a house key, aluminum foil, and a pop tab). A select few things were attracted to the magnet (a paperclip, staples, iron filings). Reasoning: Although everything that was attracted to the magnet was metallic, not all metallic things were magnetic. The property that all of the magnetic items had in common is that they contain iron. So something must contain iron to be magnetic.

Claim: The force required to overcome friction ____________________________________. Evidence: We tested ________ shoes using a ______________. We ensured the masses of the shoes were the same. We found out that _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Reasoning:
