Building Atoms
How to Build an Atom. Choose 3 colors and designate which color will be the Protons, which color will be the Neutrons, and which color will be the Electrons. The Protons and the Neutrons will always be in the Nucleus. The Electrons will always be on the rings/shells around the Nucleus. The Atomic Number is the number of Protons. The Mass Number - The Atomic Number equals the number of Protons & Neutrons. The First Shell holds 2 Electrons. The Second Shell holds 8 Electrons.
Atom 1: Hydrogen The number of Protons. (Remember that the number of Protons and Electrons are equal.) The number of particles in the Nucleus.
