UF clinical research professionals take home international association’s Chapter Excellence Award

ACRP Professional Development Courses Professional development is an essential part of achieving the highest level of patient safety, data quality and regulatory compliance. To foster professional development, the UF CTSI Clinical Research Professionals Advisory Council has partnered with the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) to provide courses on a variety of topics related to human subjects research. These courses encompass many aspects of clinical research. Some courses are directly related to the work research coordinators perform on a daily basis, and some provide more specialized information. Research coordinators are encouraged to explore the list of available courses. If you have any questions, please contact Bob Kolb at (352) 273-8882 or kolbhr@ufl.edu.

Research Coordinator Certification Study Groups Certification Options -Certification is awarded by two organizations, both accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCAA): The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) offers Clinical Research Associate, Clinical Research Coordinator and Physician Investigator certifications. A nonprofit founded in 1976, ACRP has grown to more than 20,000 members worldwide today. The Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) offers Clinical Research Professional certification. SOCRA is a nonprofit with more than 6,000 members worldwide. . If you are considering certification, consider what you are trained to do professionally and which option is right for you (side-by-side comparison). Both ACRP and SoCRA are dedicated to ensuring quality clinical research, promoting the protection of research participants, and offering educational opportunities and resources to clinical research professionals. Certification advances the clinical research profession and enhances subject safety, regulatory compliance and the public’s confidence in clinical trials. It is a valuable career development milestone for any clinical research professional
