Canadian Foodgrains Bank Sunday 2018 Litany (based on Acts 2:17-21)

Reader 1: ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Reader 2: We are living in those last days. All: Lord God, “Change the Story” and bring an end to World Hunger.

Reader 1: “Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” Reader 2: We see the visions of a world made new, a world without hunger. All: Lord God, may we dream the dreams that will “Change the Story.”

Reader 1: “Even on my servants,” says the Lord, “both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.” Reader 2: God said to Abraham: “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” (Gen 12:3) All: Lord God, bless us so that we can help “Change the Story.”

Reader 1: “I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.” Reader 2: We have seen God’s power and the wonders he has performed, and we profess: “With God all things are possible.” (Matt 19:26) All: Lord God, we call on you to use us to “Change the Story.”

Reader 1: “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Reader 2: Let us pray: Dear God, we call on your name today. Bless us so that all people on earth might be blessed through us. We dream of that day when every child is fed. We ask it in the name of Jesus, in the confidence that you will do it (John 14:14). Amen.
