Presentation transcript:

Two 11 th grade students were selected to be participants in the activity. Both students are male and are currently enrolled at Salem High School. While one student is enrolled in all International Baccalaureate classes, the other only takes general studies courses. The ten pictures featured people, places, and technology from different time periods ranging from Ancient Greece to 1980s New York City.

Disposition both students had towards American history. The apparent difficulty of government for many students. Students failure to see historical events as significant and sequential.

Teachers who teach world history and government must go above and beyond in teaching their subject in order to interest their students. From an administrators point of view, there could be steps taken to increase instruction of world history and government.

Teachers must stress the cause and effect relationship between historical events by asking questions similar to the ones outlined in the interview section of this assignment. Teachers must set up their curriculum in such a way that students understand the sequential nature of the historical events being taught.
