Tips…. Expect to be overwhelmed. Choose what parts of Banner you will go live with and what parts you will grow into. Takes excellent notes during system education. Clean up the data that you want to convert NOW! Use your consultant and Actionline, but do your research first.

More Tips…. Get on the SCT listservs. You will get out of the Banner implementation what you put in – what effort are you willing to give? Discuss concerns. Start the report writing process early. Document decisions. Anticipate weaknesses and develop a plan to deal with them.

Even More Tips…. Go to project managers when necessary. Escalate issues when necessary. Keep up with tasks assigned to you in between visits from your consultant. Keep an open mind. Have a positive attitude. Celebrate your successes.

Timeline What term do you plan to go live? Work backwards to determine go live dates for all modules When can the first student register? When do you build the schedule? When are catalog updates due? When are fees built? When are ISIR loads done? Determine when mock registrations must take place. Plan at least two mocks. Once the go-live dates are defined, determine when conversions need to be completed Determine when ancillary systems need to be completed

Timeline Review the timeline frequently to make sure you are on track Feel free to add to and enhance the timeline
