What Else Can We Do Today? Change Perceptions Expose Students & Parents to Technical Career Opportunities Educators Identify available JTED resources Review the Manufacturing Institute Tool Kit. Meet local employers, tour their facilities Understand their needs Arrange a tour for your students Tailor curricula to meet national standards Find grant money When we ask what else we can do, some of these answers may seem familiar, but they’re more true today than ever. Think of this as an org chart. Everyone in AMP, and everyone in this room, is here to support the graduates and technical experts at the top of this page. Without them, we won’t be able to run our businesses. For every one of us, I’m sure we can name the competitors elsewhere in the country, and around the world, which are ready to ready to take away our our markets. The fact is -- anyone can buy land, put up a building, and fill it full of equipment, but the best have the best teams, with the right education, the right skills, the right attitudes, and the best leadership. (Read bullets in each box). Our employees are the most important people in our business. (No one allows me to touch machines, for example. I’m just here to be sure I’m making payroll, delivering benefits, solving problems, and everything else an HR person should do. All of you have similar roles to support the people we rely on every day on our factory floor.)
