FitzWimarc Politics Holiday Work To start you thinking about and researching politics and current affairs

Politics Holiday work In Politics it is crucial that you keep up-to-date with current affairs. For the new linear course having examples will enable you to provide links between the variety of different topics we will study, rather than seeing each topic as a stand alone (e.g. The Brexit Referendum linked democracy, the power of parliament, the power of the judiciary and the media) Use of examples will be a big differentiator between A/B grades students and C/D grade students. Your homework is to look over three key policies of three British political parties – this will be taken in early in September and will form part of our early lessons. You could find this information on respectable news sites (BBC, Guardian, Independent etc) or from the political parties own websites. Try different google searches to find the required information but ensure the policies are from this year. The next slide shows you how I would like this information given in.

Future tips for following current affairs Top tips for following the news: Read high level newspapers (broadsheets) – the Metro, Daily Mail or The Sun are not enough. Download news apps like BBC news on your mobile. Follow teachers on twitter and read as many of these articles as possible..! @Jolleypolitics @missjra86
