Harrisburg Promise Program
Harrisburg Promise Background Program Partners: HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College; the City of Harrisburg; and the Harrisburg Housing Authority Launched in the 2016/2017 School Year Creates a pathway to postsecondary education for youth in Harrisburg and Steelton-Highspire School Districts The program supports students from seventh grade through graduation from HACC with early intervention that will reduce barriers to postsecondary education and inspire college aspirations.

Harrisburg Promise Enrollment Requirements Students must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher Drug, alcohol and tobacco use will not be tolerated. The students (male or female) cannot become parents. Students of all races and socioeconomic levels will be welcome to participate as long as they meet program requirements.
Harrisburg Promise Monthly Workshops College and Career-Readiness Topics Include: Career Exploration, Financial Literacy, Decision Making, Communication, Team Building, Library Research and Writing Skills, Tours of HACC’s Public Safety Center and Nursing Lab, Visits with HACC Clubs and Student Organizations, Industry-Specific Presentations
Harrisburg Promise Scholarship HACC Foundation has a goal of raising $150,000 by 2020 to establish the Harrisburg Promise Scholarship Students who successfully complete this program and enter HACC as a first-year student will be eligible for the Harrisburg Promise Scholarship. We believe finances should never be a barrier to education.
