Improvements in Transportation Steam engine was created by James Watt in 1765 Figured out a way to make steam engine work faster while burning less fuel Key power source of the Industrial Revolution; led to expansion of all other industries Water transportation Steam also propelled boats Robert Fulton built a steamboat, the Clermont In England, water transportation improved with the creation of canals Mid 1800’s, 4,250 miles of inland channels throughout England helped reduce the cost of transporting raw materials and finished goods
