Cell Division and Mitosis 1.During cell division one cell divides into two cells. 2.The original cell is called the parent cell. 3.The two new cells are called daughter cells. 4.The two new daughter cells are identical to the parent cell. 5.The contents of the nucleus must be copied and goes into the nucleus of each daughter cell.

CELL CYCLE 6. The cell cycle has two main phases: INTERPHASE and MITOSIS. Most of the life cycle of a cell is spent in interphase. 8. During mitosis, a cell divides.
