Stage 4: Designing a healthy balanced meal
Presentation transcript:

We purchase minced beef that is lean with only 10% Fat, we then dry fry our mince and remove as much fat as possible before using it in our meals. We use fresh chicken fillets that are not filled with water, salt or sugar. The flavoured chicken for the deli bars, is marinated & cooked on site. Our marinades are of dry ingredients so no oil is used. Custard & all white sauces are made with semi-skimmed milk No flour is used in the production of our soups (if it is then it is clearly stated) No margarine is used in any of the Grab n Go sandwiches/rolls.

Mayonnaise used in our sandwich filling is light mayonnaise Tomato based sauces are made fresh & contain no flour & 95% of the time, no margarine. All milk used is semi skimmed with skimmed milk available for hot drinks No oil is used in our chicken shawarma with it being cooked in its own juices Our Food With Soul sandwiches that are provided daily are all calorie counted and labelled accordingly.

Half of our soups over the week are from our “Less Than” range so are less than 350 calories per 12oz cup. Healthy Me options are available on our menu via Baxter Storey own Healthy Me range – all calorie counted and advertised on the day with nutritional content.
