Ice Breaker

Relationship Iowa Extension Council Association and ISU Extension and Outreach County Services Who, why, and how do our two organizations work together? Julie -- The association is the direct communication link to ISU Extension and Outreach administration – Our board members and executive director meet regularly with administrative team members to voice your concerns, opinions, and suggestions. The Association sits at the table with extension administration to explain the challenges, formulate policies and practices that help solve local problems, smooth out local difficulties, and help county staff and councils be more effective with less effort. Cindy – ISU Extension and Outreach, County Services is a unit within Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. (summarize) Role of Iowa State University and ISU Extension and Outreach Iowa State University strives to be the premier land grant university in the nation by not only being a student-focused institution, but diligently addressing the goal of being a citizen-focused university that best serves its state. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is in a unique position to help the university achieve that goal, because we build capacity. We strengthen partnerships across campus to enhance connections with communities; leverage resources to invest more effectively in local programs; and rigorously monitor and demonstrate our impacts. Purpose of ISU Extension and Outreach Iowa State University Extension and Outreach wants a strong Iowa. Our goal is to provide education and build partnerships designed to solve today’s problems and prepare for the future. We do this by being everywhere for Iowans. ISU Extension and Outreach serves as a 99-county campus, connecting the needs of Iowans with Iowa State University research and resources.
