Culture & Society Culture: the shared products of human groups Society: a group of mutually interdependent people who have organized in such way as to share a common culture SOCIETY creates CULTURE

Five Components of Culture Symbols: something that represents something else Language: Communication that is unique to the Culture Values: Shared beliefs about: what is right and what is wrong What is desirable and what is undesirable Norms: Shared rules of Conduct Physical Objects: the “stuff” of the culture
