Arts Education 10-12: Overview Grades 10, 11 and 12 discipline-specific curriculum Dance, drama, music and visual arts Focus on creative and artistic processes Discipline-specific language 15

Arts Education 58 courses posted online in Dance, Drama, Music & Visual Arts New courses: Photography 10, 11, 12 Musical Theatre 10, 11, 12 Dance Company 10, 11, 12 Theatre Company 10, 11, 12 Contemporary Music 10, 11, 12 16

Applied Design, Skills & Technologies (ADST) Grades 10, 11 and 12 discipline-specific curriculum Business Education, Culinary Arts, Home Economics, Information and Communications Technology, Media Design, Technology Education, and Tourism Focus on designing and making, the acquisition of skills, and the application of technologies Discipline-specific content -I’ve changed Media Arts to Media Design to match the Comparison Guide…I hope that is correct. I believe ARTS calls it Media Arts -I took the 2nd bullet from the Introduction…maybe something better that you are aware of -3rd bullet is the same…does it still work for ADST? (Mel ‘s edit: I changed it to discipline-specific content, because each course actually has the same Big Ideas and CCs (which is an issue we will be addressing). 17

Applied Design, Skills & Technologies 57 ADST courses posted online in Business Education, Culinary Arts, Home Economics, Information and Communications Technology, Media Design, Technology Education & Tourism New courses: Business Education: Entrepreneurship 11 Culinary Arts: Culinary Arts 10 Information and Communications Technology: Computer Studies 10 Media Design: Media Design 10, Media Design 11, Media Design 12 Technology Education: Art Metal and Jewellery 12, Engine and Drivetrain 12, Furniture and Cabinetry 12, Machining and Welding 12, Mechatronics 12, Robotics 11, Robotics 12 Double check the 57. There are several listed in the “not yet created” file. I spoke with Nancy and she said we should not mention them…just use what is currently in the comparison guide. There are a lot of name changes that makes it look like new courses…but I only added “new” courses that had no previous IRP. 18
