THE CONQUEST OF CANAAN

Joshua Backround Joshua is author and principal character. Written about 1400 B.C.—story takes place over 50 years. Tells of the conquest and division of Canaan. Transition into the Promise Land. Joshua completes what Moses commenced. Moses passed through the Red Sea—Joshua passed through the Jordan River. Israelites move from bondage to blessing. Dt. showed a vision of faith--Josh. the venture of faith.

Joshua Survey Spies sent to Jericho & received by Rahab. Israelites cross over Jordan River into Canaan. Conquest of the land. Division of the land among the tribes. Appointment of cities of refuge. Land promise fulfilled. Farewell address by Joshua.
