Looking at Stomata Walt – View stoma under a microscope WILF – Write up in books of the experiment Labelled Diagram in books of Stomata

Where can you find a Stomata? Stomata can be found ___________ What do they look like Stomata look like ______________

You are going to view stomata under a microscope. THEN you will return to your desks and write out a procedure explaining the experiment

First brush a THIN layer of nail varnish onto the underside of a leaf

Blow on the leaf to dry the varnish Gently peal off a section of the varnish Place onto a slide, stain and add a cover slip

Place the slide under the microscope under the lowest magnification – smallest lens

Finally, draw what you can see
