Nursery Summer 1-Week 6 Up, Up, Up Once Upon a Time Speaking & Listening In their key groups the children will be looking at a picture. They will talk about what they see and answer questions. Personal, Social, Emotional Development In Seal we continue with our topic ‘Relationships’. This week we will look at some photographs and try to find out how they are feeling by looking at their faces. We will talk about how sometimes we might need to tell our friends how we are feeling. Phonics In phonics some children will be playing lots of listening games and the older children will be learning all about the letter ‘c’ and ‘k’, what sound it makes and objects that begin with that sound. Nursery Summer 1-Week 6 Up, Up, Up Once Upon a Time Communication & Language Literacy The children will listen to the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. They will talk about where the story takes place and the characters. They will draw pictures on a story path to retell the story. Physical Development Expressive Arts and Design Our role play will be Jacks home. The children can play together, listening to each others ideas and take on roles from the story. On the creative table the children will make pictures of the story. In PE this week we will be acting out the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We will be making movements for the Giant, Jack and climbing the beanstalk. On the fine motor table the children will be using their skill to move the Beans in to the pots with the Tweezers. They will count out the correct number of beans for each pot Maths From the maths assessment we did we have found that we need to revisit number recognition, counting objects and using the vocabulary related to capacity.
