أزمة المياه Water Crisis هو مصطلح يشير إلى حالة الموارد المائية في العالم بحسب الطلب البشري عليها. هذا المصطلح قد تم تطبيقه على حالة المياه في جميع أنحاء العالم من قبل الامم المتحدة والمنظمات العالمية الأخرى. والجوانب الرئيسية لأزمة المياه هي ندرة المياه الصالحة للاستعمال البشري و تلوث المياه

ندرة المياه تؤثر على بعض أجزاء من العالم أكثر من غيرها ندرة المياه تؤثر على بعض أجزاء من العالم أكثر من غيرها. اليوم ، 800 مليون شخص يعيشون تحت عتبة "الإجهاد المائي". والأنهار تجف، والبحيرات تتقلص

ولكن أزمة المياه تضرب المدن في العالم الغني أيضا على سبيل المثال سيدني،،وأستراليا هي القارة الأكثر جفافا في العالم، حيث ازدياد الملوحة في المياه يهدد الزراعة. تتأثر أجزاء كبيرة من أوروبا بسبب الجفاف المتكررة.
