The Mathematical Practices Grades 5-12 Inspired Instruction

Admit Ticket Fill in all parts of the Admit Ticket. 2. You have 10 minutes to meet with members of your group to discuss how you could categorize your numbers? (i.e. multiples of five, odd/even numbers, palindromes…) 3. Record your findings. A group discussion will follow.

Goals and Objectives Review and Discuss the 8 Mathematical Practices Align Mathematical Practices to Student-Centered Activities Across the Domains in Grades 5-8 Analyze a Lesson Plan to Identify Mathematical Practices Discuss Implementation of the Mathematical Practices in Your Classroom.

Implementing the 8 Mathematical Practices through Student-Centered Activities Measurement Conversion Tables – Grade 4/5 Properties of triangles & angle relationships – Grade 7/8/HS Functions – Grade 8/HS Operating with Decimals – Grade 6 Fraction Problem Solving Cards – Grade 5
