Kairos is an Advocate for Christ Stand in the Gap Be a Disciple Walk the Talk
We bring the love and forgiveness of Christ For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Matthew 25:35-36
We are United by our Faith in Jesus We take into the prison those things that unite us: The Bible The Trinity The deity, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ Friendship with God is a free gift The Love of Christ motivates his followers to care for others Sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ
We Introduce Others to Christ Who is He What did He do for us We are His representative We share what He is doing in our lives
Kairos does not Advocate for Inmates No written mail correspondence No video visitation No email We give them nothing No use of social media with inmates Do not make court ordered payments on their behalf Do not put money on their accounts We do not sit on parole boards We do not write parole letters of endorsement We do not attend parole hearings
We do not associate while they are on paper Why?
We want them to lean on Jesus, not us We don’t show favoritism We don’t defend an inmates crime We don’t manipulate the participants to act a certain way We don’t get involved in family or legal matters
