Presentation transcript:

God is your King – the Almighty “When the game is over, it all goes back in the box” – John Ortberg A leader’s first task is to define reality – Max de Pree Does God shape your reality? Does your faith in God allow Him to direct your path?

God is active in the bad times Bad times don’t mean God is far from you In every situation, reach out to God, rely on Him Put Jesus at the centre; “Seek, and you will find” Don’t rely on your own understanding

God is faithful

Our King is coming! Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again The prophesies of Isaiah in relation to Jesus have been worked out in history, and are being worked out in our lives today!

Our King is here! The Holy Spirit has been poured out on all flesh! Jesus is on a mission and we are called to join Him in it Take your eyes off yourself and keep focused on Him – He will be your guide, and your provider Desire to do His will and He will give you the desires of your heart (because they will be one with His heart!)

Our King reigns! Things may seem out of control – but nothing is outside of God’s control Things look random, but it’s all in God’s plan It may seem like “The end is nigh!” – but for Christians, the end is always nigh! Everything people – including you! – strive for “in the flesh” will come to absolutely nothing Keep you eyes fixed on your eternal destiny – let that shape what you do next! It matters!

The end is near!

Things to think about this week Prayer makes a difference – pray in faith! Jesus spoke of “Wars and rumours of wars” – in unsettled times, focus on Jesus and His promises Your future is assured, and eternal Know what you can do, and do it; know what is outside of your influence, and pray into it “A week is a long time in politics” – change happens very fast! Pray that God’s will be done

The Grace The grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all now and evermore. Amen.

Shaping up!
