Exposition Introduces the story’s characters, setting, and situation.
Narrative Hook The point in the story where the author catches the reader’s attention by presenting an interesting problem or solution.
Rising Action The part of the plot that adds complications to the plot’s problems and increases reader interest.
Conflict A struggle between two opposing forces. A) External Conflict-character vs. character, character vs. nature, character vs. society B) internal conflict- Character vs. Himself, ie. Decision-making
Climax The point of greatest emotional intensity, interest, or suspense in the story. The turning point.
Falling Action The action that follows the climax and cleans up loose ends in the story.
Resolution This presents or reveals the final outcome of the conflict.
