Famous People Icebreaker Greet classmates & see famous person on back. Ask ONE yes/no question Figure it out? Guess! Right? Have a seat. Time? 5-7 minutes. (attempt to greet ten people)

Textbook Scavenger Hunt Use the textbook to answer questions on the page about the book. All parts of the textbook are fair game : you’ll also be using them throughout the year. Finished? Check your answers with a partner. Then have one sheet of paper on your desk.

1st Political Memory / A bio of you (due block 8/27-28) What is History?  A story of the past?  What’s your story? We are going to be studying America’s history this school year.  We will be looking at America’s political and social history.  To let me know where you are historically and socially I want you to write an account of your earliest political memory.  Tell me: When you were born and where, about you and your family.  What event was your earliest political memory? How old were you? Did the event have an impact on your world (on you and your family).  If the event impacted you or your family tell me how you were impacted. If you or your family were not impacted, tell why you weren’t impacted. - Two paragraphs (5-7 sentences each)
