LIQUID LUBRICATION

WHAT THIS IS WHEN WE SPEAK ABOUT LIQUID LUBRICTION, WE MEAN OIL. OIL COMES AS A LIQUID, BUT IN MANY DIFFERENT THICKNESSES THIS THICKNESS IS KNOWN AS VISCOSITY THE THICKER IT IS, THE MORE VISCOUS IT IS THE CORRECT DEFINITION OF VISCOSITY IS ‘SOMETHINGS RESISTANCE TO FLOW’ OIL COMES IN MANY FORMS OF VISCOSITY OR THICKNESS

SOURCES OF OIL THESE ARE MINERAL, SYNTHETIC, VEGATABLE AND ANIMAL. MINERAL COMES FROM THE GROUND AND HAS TO REFINED INTO DIFFERENT PRODUCTS, NOT SEEN AS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY. SYNTHETIC OIL IS DERIVED FROM A MANUFACTURED PROCESS BY THE FISCHER-TROPSCH PROCESS (COMBINING METHANE, CO & CO2) UTILISING A SUPERHEATED PROCESS VEGATABLE GENERALLY COME FROM SEED (RAPESEED, SUNFLOWER SEED) IS SEEN TO BE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY AND BIODREGRADABLE. ANIMAL FATS WERE USED IN THE PAST BUT HAVE BEEN SUPERCEDED MANY GRADES OF OIL, TYPES OF GREASE AND SOLID LUBRICANTS ADDITIVES ARE USED TO IMPROVE THE OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF OIL

TYPES AND GRADES OF OIL OIL COMES IN MANY GRADES AND VISCOSITIES FOR MANY DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS. HEAVY DUTY OIL IS USED TO RETAIN IT EXCELLENT LUBRICATING PROPERIES WHILST OPERATING UNDER LOAD- http://www.mobil.co.uk/UK-English-LCW/heavydutyoils_products_rear-axle_mobil- delvac-synthetic-gear-oil-75w90.aspx

TYPES AND GRADES OF OIL A LIGHTER GRADE OIL SO OIL CAN FLOW A LITTLE EASIER AROUND- https://www.mobil.com/English-US/Industrial/pds/GLXXMobil-SHC-600- Series AN EVEN THINNER TYPE CAN BE USED TO PENETRATE INTO ALMOST ANY PLACE THAT REQUIRES IT- http://www.actioncan.com/product/ac-90/
