Multiplying Mixed Numbers

To Multiply Mixed Numbers: Change mixed numbers to improper fractions. Multiply numerators by numerators and denominators by denominators. Simplify and/or change improper fractions back into mixed numbers.

Example 1 1 2 6 x 4 7 6 9 54 x = 4 7 28 1 28 54 26 13 1 1 = 28 28 14 26

Example 2 1 3 4 3 x 6 5 450 25 18 x = 6 5 30 15

Example 3 3 1 1 x 2 8 7 7 1 x = 8 16 2

Example 4 1 1 2 3 x 4 4 55 5 11 x = 4 16 4 7 3 16
