What We Are Learning This Week: Mrs. Simmons’s News August 29-Sept. 2 2016 csimmons@ponderisd.net 479-8390 Spelling Words: sad list fix dig win rip jam flat kit glad if mask Word Wall Words: are, to, I, not, boy Vocabulary Words: curly, straight, floppy, drooled, weighed, stood, collars, row Please remember to send a snack every day! We will have our first spelling test this Friday. Students will only have to spell the spelling words on the test.. We are just practicing reading the word wall words and vocabulary words. Please make sure they know what the vocabulary words mean. What We Are Learning This Week: READING: sequence of events Story: ”Henry and Mudge” ENGLISH: subjects and predicates SPELLING: short a, i MATH: place value SOCIAL STUDIES: good citizenship, Abigail Adams, Thurgood Marshall Important Dates: Sept. 5 No School Homework: Every night study spelling words and read at least 15 minutes. If there is a book sent home in the LION folder, have your child read it. If not, have them read their library book or another book of their choice.
