(Summer 2013) The birth of the Manifesto for Race Equality Steering Group (March 2015) January 17 Manifesto Conference Based on conference we have a proposed structure. Leaders Group and Human Resources Group Race Equality in Education 100 Black Men in a Room January 2018 - Race Equality Commission in place. Communities/ proposed structure/ ways in influence/ recruitment Work with Mayor/ Deputy Mayor Round table with Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Leaders Overview 2

Mayor’s Office Bristol Commission for Race Equality The integration of Bristol Race Equality Commission with the City’s structures (Appendix 1) The Commission will Influence: Mayor’s Office The Commission will: -Set objective city strategy -Provide independent scrutiny - Hold organisations to account - Increase influence and power of BAME people in the city - provide policy support All sectors Bristol Commission for Race Equality Advance and Prioritise Race Equality for the City Influence Power structures such as the LEP Task Groups For example: Race Equality in Education Group Evidence and Expertise: National organisations Academic experts Race Equality Network Delivering Race Equality: Race Equality Network e.g. BAME led organisations Community/ citizens such as BME Voice BME networks e.g. staff networks Priority Policy Areas Working Groups such as Strategic Leaders Group The supporting pillars of the Commission
